Watercolor in Bloom

Join us in celebrating early spring with this AwA workshop inspired by nature’s bloomers!

Artist Thea Kovac will be lead this workshop, opened to all children and adults! We will use liquid watercolor with various resists and brush techniques to create floral patterns and forms, and create 3D bouquets from our designs.

Thea Kovac is a Milwaukee based visual artist, independent art instructor, and poet. Thea has held classes, workshops and artist residencies in many academic and community venues including MIAD, UWM, Stritch, Alverno, Jewish Community Center, Jewish Museum Milwaukee, Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA), Sharon Lynne Wilson Center, Woodland Pattern, Lynden Sculpture Garden and Walker’s Point Center for the Arts. She is on the Milwaukee Artist Resource Network (MARN) Advisory Board.
She has been on the jury panel for exhibits at area colleges and the Milwaukee Art Museum Scholastic Art Awards, and has given presentation at artist organizations in southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
Her watercolor and acrylic paintings are in numerous collections locally and internationally and in many corporate collections including Avon Headquarters in New York, Information Resources in Chicago, and Northwestern Mutual and St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee.
In her workspace in The Toy Factory on the north side of Milwaukee, she creates vivid watercolor and acrylic paintings.
