I am a retired physician now exploring my other passion – the arts – after practicing Family Medicine for most of my adult life. As a physician (and a wife and mother), I had little time to spend in other activities. Once I retired from medicine, I have been spending considerable time painting and doing photography. I often use my photographs and turn them into paintings. I prefer oil painting but do dabble with watercolors also.
I have always been an artist at heart. While studying Medicine, I simultaneously pursued a doctorate equivalent in Indian Classical Dancing. I have choreographed musicals and dramas. I have now turned to painting. I enjoy doing landscapes, still life and portraits. While many of my pieces have been sold at various sites, some have been donated and sold at area charities.
Below is a listing of venues where I have exhibited. Most of these exhibitions have been juried events. I do art projects by commission, especially people and pet portraits.
We are honored to introduce to you the four Featured Member Artists of 2014-15. Their exhibition dates will be announced at a later date.
Each year, a juror selects four artists from the Annual Members Show to exhibit individually in a Featured Member Exhibition. Each exhibition opens on Gallery Night and runs for 10 weeks. This year’s juror is Michael Davidson, Chair of Fine Arts at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. The 2014-15 Featured Member Artists were announced during the opening reception of the Annual Members Show on Friday, September 5.
