After School Art Classes
FREE Hands-On After school Art Classes
For kids ages 6 – 12
All Classes: Tuesdays – Fridays, 3pm – 5pm
2012 – 2013 Schedule: September 4, 2012 – June 7, 2013
All students are provided a healthy snack at 3pm. Each day students hand craft a different “make and take” project taught by a licensed Art educator. We explore a variety of mediums and approaches such as painting, drawing, clay, printmaking, fiber arts, movement and more. Students of all abilities are welcome and will walk away with newly gained knowledge of skill and technique. Classes are on a drop-in basis, which means if you can make it one day a week, once a month or everyday, our doors are open and we are always delighted to see you!

Work-It-Out Wednesdays
Get Moving, get Active, and be Positive with our new weekly DANCE, RHYTHM, and MOVEMENT based Wednesdays! Students will enjoy learning dances and rhythms from various Latin, African, and Hip-Hop styles. Classes will feature our “Healthy Body=Healthy Mind=Positive Attitude” initiative and include nutritional education and physical strength training combined with culturally relevant teachings.
Cartoon Fridays
Join us for a creative start to your weekend! On Fridays, students can come unwind from a long week of school as they explore graphic novels, comics, and superheroes. Local Artist, Andrea Guzzetta will lead students in creating a new character every Friday. Students will focus on figure drawing, perspective, expression, shading, imagination, and story telling. Students who come regularly will work on creating their own comic book. For kids ages 9-15.
“My favorite class is art class in the afternoon, after school. I like it because we learn about things from other countries.” -Genaviv, Hands-On program participant, age 11
