Afternoons with Art (AwA)

 
 

Afternoons with Art (AwA) is a series of art workshops held on MPS NO SCHOOL DAYS from 1–5 pm for students 6-12 years old. AwA classes are fun and give students an extensive session on art and expression.

Upcoming AwA:
February 18th
Assemblage and Collage featuring Gary Warren Niebuhr: Students will be working with recycled material and colorful tissue paper to transform egg cartons to triptychs. Youth will explore the wonderful techniques of collaging and assemblage using newspaper, magazines, and found objects.

  • Gary  Warren Neihbuhr is a retired librarian who does found object mixed media assemblage and WPCA’s 2017-2018 Featured Member Artist. Denice Neihbuhr is a retired kindergarten teacher from MPS’ Parkside School for the Arts that likes to make steel wire jewelry. Together, they will merge their knowledge to create an afternoon filled with exploration!

AwA classes are fun and give students an extensive session on art and expression, guided by a structured curriculum and experienced art educators. All art supplies are included. Please bring a snack!

Class size is limited. Registration is highly recommended.
