Join us for this animated AwA, where we will learn the art of stop motion and take a look at how cartoons and animations are made using the technique. We will make our own animations using conventional materials as well as experiment with unconventional ones. We will definitely make claymation!

Join us for this AwA workshop based on artist Faith Ringgold’s Tar Beach story quilts.

Story quilts illustrate memories we shared with our family and moments of significance. We will be creating our own story quilts using fabric, paper and oil pastel, and learn how to compose a narrative from Faith Ringgold’s work and from her book Tar Beach.

Spring Break AwA at WPCA!

We have six days of Afternoons with Art during MPS Spring Break.

Afternoons with Art (AwA) is our art education program offered during days when schools are not in session (based on MPS calendar). Think about it as a mini art camp. AwA includes winter and spring break programming as well as individual days during the semester (see list of dates below).

AwA classes are fun and gives the students their own freedom to understand art and expression while guided by a structured curriculum and experienced art educators. All art supplies and a healthy snack are included in each class!
