We are excited for this community engaging workshop with the goal of empowering neighborhood youth and to make our surrounding more vibrant. This collaborative mural will be created by our Hands-on arts education program students and invite anyone who wants to be involved. The mural will be located on the north wall of our building (839 S 5th St).
The purpose of the mural project is to:

In this darkly comic play, former college roommates Emily and Kristi reunite to celebrate the birth of Emily’s new baby, a baby unlike anything Kristi has ever seen.
SandMark Productions and Walker’s Point Center for the Arts proudly presents Baby Wings, a world premiere play by local award-winning playwright Mark Wyss. The production runs February 11 – February 27, 2016 at Walker’s Point Center for the Arts’ Blue Box Theater.

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, we are having a one day workshop that combines the art of spoken words and drawing inspired by his “I Have a Dream” speech.
The workshop will be led by poet Victoria Porter (of MVP Speaks) and teen mentors from Arts @ Large. Family of the students are welcome to join us in the last hour where we’ll perform what we created in the workshop.
