October 16 – November 21, 2015

Opening Reception: Fall Gallery Night, Friday, October 16, 5–9 pm.

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a celebration honoring loved ones who have passed and a time to reflect on those who are still with us. Colorful ofrendas (offerings/altars) commemorate the dead and welcome their returning souls during the holiday. The exhibition not only presents a cultural and art experience, but also offers stories of those who, even in their absence, prove to be impactful and continue to inspire.

Welcome Ana Melo, Our New Executive Director

Ana-1Walker’s Point Center for the Arts is proud to introduce our new Executive Director Ana Melo, who started on August 10. Ana grew up in the Walker’s Point neighborhood and has strong ties to the community. She is a bilingual community leader passionate about the arts, youth engagement and nonprofit sustainability.
