Community Arts Coordinator

Calea Sowell is a community artist, photographer, printmaker, and educator who graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2025.  She creates art to highlight interconnection, and through the art education program, focuses on sharing how art can serve as a means for expression and reflection. Calea earned her BA in Studio Arts with a concentration in Community Arts, a minor in Digital Photography and Imaging, and a certificate in Cultures and Communities in 2025. In the fall of 2022, she began interning at Walker’s Point Center for the Arts through the ArtsECO program. This experience altered her life path as she began to learn about WPCA’s dedication to accessibility, which inspired her journey into community arts.
