For more than 30 years, Walker’s Point Center for the Arts has been a cultural staple of the Walker’s Point neighborhood and a powerful advocate for underrepresented artists in Milwaukee and beyond. As one of the city’s oldest and most beloved community art spaces, WPCA is renowned for providing high-caliber, accessible arts experiences for all — from bold exhibitions to youth arts programs.

WPCA Summer Art Camp is an important part of the organization’s mission. The 7 week camp helps young people examine thoughts and feelings; strengthen problem-solving skills, autonomy and their sense of purpose; and gives them tools to preserve and celebrate their cultures.

Each summer, WPCA is proud to offer scholarships to students age 6-14 living in the 53204 zip code thanks to generous community support. But this year, grant funding did not come through as expected leaving the scholarship fund unable to support all the students who applied.
