Walker’s Point Center for the Arts Named 2025 NALAC National Arts Partner Grantee

Milwaukee, WI — Walker’s Point Center for the Arts (WPCA) is proud to announce its selection as one of 21 Latinx/é arts organizations nationwide to receive a 2025 NALAC Fund for the Arts: National Arts Partners grant. This prestigious recognition, awarded by the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC), includes an unrestricted $25,000 grant to support WPCA’s mission-driven work in arts education, community engagement, and cultural programming.

Out of 298 eligible applications reviewed, our proposal stood out for its deep-rooted commitment to community-centered arts and cultural leadership. NALAC shared that our vision and dedication resonated strongly with their panel of Latinx/é arts and cultures leaders, who recognized our work as critically important to advancing well-being in the community we serve.

The National Arts Partners grants, totaling $525,000 across all recipients, are funded through The Wallace Foundation’s Advancing Well-Being in the Arts initiative. The awards aim to strengthen organizations rooted in communities of color by providing flexible support for infrastructure, capacity-building, strategic planning, and staff development.

“We are deeply honored to be recognized by NALAC as a National Arts Partner,” said Xela Garcia, Executive Director of WPCA. “This recognition affirms the care, creativity, and love we pour into every program and partnership—and the vital role we play in the community we serve.”

WPCA joins a distinguished cohort of organizations spanning thirteen states and three regions of Puerto Rico, representing disciplines from craft and culinary arts to literary arts and film. Now in its 17th year, the NALAC Fund for the Arts remains the premier national grant program exclusively supporting Latinx/é artists and arts organizations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
