THE SEVENTH RELEASE
The foundation of my work is rooted in childlike expression while considering my most intimate relationships. I use playful qualities combined with my understanding of interconnectedness as a self reflective process; the work becomes a mediation between self and others. I bind the contrasting experiences of performance and intimacy, continuously revealing the wounds of my past as a means of mending the present. After the abrupt death of my grandfather in the summer of 2022, I repositioned into a more active subjectivity: luchadores and eagles. Masks, shifting identities, and a cultural thread leading back to home has grounded my work in themes of aggressive play and the eminence of living.
