The Scratch Sessions return for our Spring 2019 session at Walker’s Point Center for the Arts (839 South 5th Street) on Thursday nights from 4-7pm starting on February 21st and running through April 25th. The final showcase will be Friday, April 26th to coincide with Gallery Night!
DJ Bizzon and DJ LOOP MKE, along with special guest instructors will teach everything from the fundamentals of DJing all the way to advanced techniques and how to turn DJing into a career. Youth ages 12-19, no matter the experience level, are welcome. This session will end with a final showcase/party that the entire community will be invited to and more info about that will be shared closer to the date.
The Sessions are free, including free food and water. For adults interested in supporting, we can always use more snacks and water. But more importantly, please come down and connect directly with the youth so we can build a community of support around them.
If you know any young people who are interested in DJing, pass this on to them! Or if you’re a professional DJ and would like to volunteer, you are invited as well. Please arrive by 3:45pm so we can start classes promptly at 4pm. No need to sign up in advance. If you or a young person you know would like to take part, just show up on Febuary 21st ready to learn!
