ABOUT THE PROGRAM: The Arts Internship Program provides high school students with paid internship opportunities to explore careers in the arts while also gaining practical and applicable job skills and work experience. Arts Internships span a total of 40-400 hours during the summer, with most organizations offering somewhere between 125-300 hours per internship. Interns are paid a minimum of $11.00 per hour and receive an unlimited M-Card for transportation (from their first day of work until the end of summer). Interns are required to attend a program orientation and job readiness trainings.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
(4 available) Practicing Studio and Arts Education Assistant: Community Art and Summer
Art Camp Assistant will utilize 30 hours of studio time to produce mosaic public art installations and a
body of work that will be exhibited at WPCA during the Annual Youth Art Exhibit. Additionally, interns
will serve as educational assistants in the Art Education department for the 8-week Youth Summer
Art Camp. Interns will be supervised and mentored by WPCA staff and visual artists. COVID-19
vaccinations required. Schedule: Students would work Tuesday through Friday 1:00 PM- 5:00 PM
with four Saturdays (June 24, July 8, July 15, & July 22) for studio time for the mosaic project.
*During week 7 of Summer Art Camp (August 1-4) times will be 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM Tuesday through
Friday.
