We are honored to announce the opening of our third Featured Member Exhibition of the 2015–16 season, featuring illustrator, animator and painter Brad Krause.
Brad’s artistic style weaves mystical surrealism with a nod to classic comic book illustration. His influence include master comic book artists Mœbius, Bernie Wrightson, Michael Golden, American Golden Age Illustrators like Howard Pyle and N.C. Wyeth, as well as classical master painter Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres and Caravaggio. His work takes from those artists, not only the expressiveness and narrative of their work, but also the impeccable techniques in creating texture, contrast, dimension, motion and light. Brad’s subject matter often plays off of traditional folklore, reinvented.
