Education

WPCA provides quality and accessible art experiences and art education to youth and family in our community and beyond. We believe that art is very important in youth development and that art education inspires confidencecreative problem solvingand academic achievement.

Our Hands-On educational program not only teaches children how to make art, but more importantly the ability to examine their thoughts, emotions, surroundings, and express them through creativity.

We call our educational program Hands-On, as it represents our philosophy in both teaching and learning art. Our bright sunlit and spacious classrooms allow youth to create in a calm and stimulating environment. The curriculum of our programs are extensive and in multiple art forms. We also bring our programs to local schools and Community Learning Centers with our On-site education programs.

Each year, WPCA coordinates with over 30 different schools and community organizations as well as over 35 local artists. Our on-site teachers are Licensed Art Educators with dedication and experience in bringing out excellence in the students we serve.

In 2009 we received the SOAR Award from Milwaukee Public Schools for supporting opportunities for after school resources. Each year, WPCA coordinates with over 30 different schools and community organizations as well as over 35 local artists. Our on-site teachers are Licensed Art Educators with dedication and experience in bringing out excellence in the students we serve.

With over 15,000 arts education opportunities provided each year, our art educators establish meaningful relationships facilitating optimism for students to reach their full potential.
