“I like that we always get to discover something new!” -Genaviv, Hands-On program participant, age 11
With over 5,000 children served annually in our distinctive arts programming, WPCA has been and will continue to be a multicultural environment where youth may engage and learn in a safe and encouraging atmosphere. In our bright sunlit and spacious classroom we provide quality multidisciplinary education with culturally relevant instruction in the visual arts, dance, theater, music and more. WPCA believes in Hands-On experiential learning through the arts. In 2009 we received the SOAR Award from Milwaukee Public Schools for supporting opportunities for after school resources. Our teachers are Licensed Art Educators with dedication and experience in bringing out excellence in the students we serve.
WPCA’s Hands-On educational programming inspires self-confidence, creative problem solving and community involvement while achieving a mutual level of respect throughout the classroom. The arts have a proven link to academic achievement and often times provide a “voice” for young people to express themselves. Our art educators establish meaningful relationships facilitating optimism for students to reach their full potential.
